When can a RP char. start PvP?
Sorry if I have missed this answer. I have been looking around different threads here for awhile and still havent found a clear cut answer.
I'm just curious when you are able to begin PvP activites with a RP character? From what I can tell you have to speak with Sir Tydus and join the academy first... can someone please verify this? TIA p.s. I have been having a blast playing in the PvE sections of the world and am only L-7 W/Mo so I dont wanna leave too early to join the academy! -Mud |

You can basically join from lvl 1, after you leave the pre-searing area. But once you leave pre-searing you'll also have to do a PvP before you go to post-searing.

If your level 7, you're ready to leave Pretty Ascalon. After you talk to Sir Tidus, leave everything behind, get a taste of PvP, and kill your first Char, you'll land in Searing Ascalon. There is an arena next to the city in which you can PvP.

What phantium said, as you leave pre searing you are put into a duel versus others leaving(I assume they're leaving anyways) afterwards you may go to ascalon arena and fight to your hearts content

I don't think you can..they are separate...what comes after you enter the academy is the next phase of the game, the part you are in now is effectively the tutorial for the main game. You can create a pvp character off the bat who will start at level 20, you only have limited customisation though so what you do is unlock skills using your RP char so that you can use them with your pvp char.
But your PvE char stays PvE. Make sense? |

PvE characters can also participate in PvP
PvP characters can only do PvP As others have said for PvE characters your first taste of pve is when you ask to leave pre-searing ascalon in the form of training duel against a team cmoprised of other players with any gaps filled in by NPC henchpeople. After that there is an arena in Seared Ascalon city where you can PvP to your hearts content. If you join a guild and that guild gets a Hall you can then engage in GvG PvP combat with your PvE character. I think thats pretty much correct, any omissions orerrors please point em out |

Just to make sure, if I have a PvE char and want to go play PvP, can I go back to PvE with that char?
Or once I goto PvP with my PvE char does it turn into a ONLY PvP char? |

Short answer - you can always do both with a RP character.
Think of it as being when you make a character the pvp option is like the silver package - you can only fight PvP with whatever skills you've unlocked. The PvE option is the gold package you can do both (altho you have to work a bit with the rp char first before you are ready to engage in PvP) Doing pvp with an rp character does not lock you out from doing pve again |

A pve char will always be pve. if you go into pvp, your still allowed to go back to pve.

After you ascend and beat the dragons lair you can enter the tomb of the primeval kings which is the PvP arena to reach the hall of heroes.
